Week 3 Tight End Outlooks For Fantasy Football

Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders - Fantasy Football Outlook

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers is looking to extend his two-game streak of 10+ PPR fantasy point performances when the Raiders face the Carolina Panthers at home on Sunday. Bowers has had eight or more targets in both games and hauled in all nine passes his way in Week 2 for 98 yards.

He has been the best tight end for fantasy football so far, and he's already earned the trust of quarterback Gardner Minshew II. Bowers figures to be a significant part of every gameplan and the clear No. 2 target in the passing game behind wide receiver Davante Adams.

The Raiders rookie tight end could've had an even bigger day last week but was stopped just short of the goal line on one of his receptions. Bowers is a must-start at tight end in all leagues in a plus matchup against the Panthers in Week 3.

Sam LaPorta, Detroit Lions- Fantasy Football Outlook

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta has been off to an extremely slow start to begin the 2024 season. Last week, quarterback Jared Goff threw for over 300 yards, but LaPorta finished with two receptions for 13 yards in the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy managers expected much more from LaPorta, who recorded nearly 900 yards and scored 10 touchdowns during his rookie season last year. The hope is that LaPorta can bounce back against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 3.

A defensive unit that has struggled early on but has been able to keep the tight end in check. Despite that, LaPorta remains on the TE1 radar for a game that could be a shootout.

- Andy Webb, RotoBaller

Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills- Fantasy Football Outlook

Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid has disappointed fantasy managers so far in 2024 with just five catches for 44 yards through two games. There were signs of encouragement in the blowout victory over Miami in Week 2.

Kincaid had better than a 20% target share as the Bills worked to involve the 2023 first-round pick. Unfortunately, the game turned into a blowout, and he was unused for the majority of the second half. The Jacksonville offense has struggled to start the 2024 campaign.

That could be worrisome for Kincaid's Week 3 outlook. If the game stays competitive, however, expect Kincaid to maintain a safe floor. Kincaid is ranked as a TE1 and should be started in all leagues.

Playing time is huge at TE, but it doesn't unlock fantasy points alone. Targets are the lifeblood of fantasy points, and targets are talent-driven.
